Type Love: Paris by Moshik Nadav

Paris is an amazing new typeface by Israeli designer Moskik Nadav. This amazingly ornate typeface includes some of the most beautiful and creative ligatures I’ve seen this years.

The typeface works best at Title size and pairs beautifully with more traditional slab-serifs. Paris includes 9 weights and is available on the Moshik Nadav Typography website for $400.

Urban Wineworks Branding & Collateral by Foundry Collective

Usually when I shop for wine, I stay safe and pick the wines I know, but this eye-catching branding for Urban Wineworks, by Dallas, Texas based Foundry Collective, would definitely pull me into buying. The bright, bold type & pattern of this label strays from the typical “french looking” copy labels or yet worse, funny animal labels and includes additional information, like pairings, that most people are clueless about.

Now if only I didn’t live in Pennsylvania, a state with draconian state-store laws.

The Moses Bridge by RO&AD Architecten

The The Moses Bridge, by RO & AD Architecten, challenges our perception of what a bridge really is. The bridge, which leads across the moat at a 17th Century Dutch fort, actually goes down through the water to preserve the historic view of the fort. Pretty brilliant if you ask me. The project is a finalist in the 2011 Dutch Design Awards.

This is by far the best wrapping paper idea I have ever seen. The Cheeseburger Wrapping Paper set by Sarah Fay & Justin Colt of Gift Couture, is currently being funded through Kickstarter and for a gift of $20 or more you get a complete set of 27″x 40″ wrapping paper.

That’s 2 buns, a hamburger, a slice of cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes, all of the components of a Cheeseburger, minus the bacon, which you can get for a gift of $1,00o or more.

I can’t wait to see what the rest of the Gift Couture themed lines are going to be in the future! Be sure to visit the Gift Couture Kickstarter page!

The paintings, with their shadows of planes, telescopes, satellites and other unknown devices hovering above, depict the tragedies of America’s toxic and abandoned landscapes.

The paintings, which can take up to 6 months to produce, are created by staining untreated muslin with watered down acrylic paint, must be completed without error. The paintings are on exhibition at RH Gallery in New York until January 13th.

Check out the video below that RH Gallery put together of Micah’s process and the ideas behind it.
