The Inner City Bike by Joey Ruiter

The Inner City Bike by Grand Rapids, MI based designer Joey Ruiter turns the traditional form of a bike on its head to create something totally new. Ruiter does away with a chain and instead, attaches the cranks directly to the hub of the back wheel. This allows him to shrink the length of the bike an do away with many components.

From the designer:
“Our goal was to hit the reset button on bike design, it’s a city cruiser, more fashion than function. It is really good for simply popping out to go a short distance, and you will look smashing while doing so. But, it is not one you would use to get to work every morning…”
