Seascape Wallpaper by Abigail Edwards

Abigail Edwards‘ new wallpaper pattern, Seascape, is truly beautiful. A simple repeating line drawing that blends into the wall when your not paying attention, but becomes a wonderful landscape of rolling waves that draws your eye further in when you look a little closer. The wallpaper is £59 a roll, about $92, and is hand printed in Lancashire, UK by one of the last traditional wallpaper printers in the country.

Falcon Enamelware Products & Rebrand

The enamelware by Falcon Enamelware is an integral part of American design history, although you may have never known who made it. The iconic blue-rimmed white bowls, dishes, and other kitchen goods are etched into most Americans memories of childhood. The company has been making enamelware since 1920 and is finally releasing new products this year designed in collaboration with Kiwi & Pom.

To go along with the release, Falcon Enamelware hired NYC based design firm Morse Studio to completely rebrand the company and its products. The amazing product photography is done by the talented Sam Stonewell with food styling by Kate Mccullough.

Weight Vases by Decha Archjananun

Weight Vases by designer Decha Archjananun of Thinkk Studio are a collection of minimal vases with cast concrete bases and laser-cut steel frames that support the flower stems. The dichotomy of the heavy bases with the lightness of the steel upper frames becomes even more brilliant when flowers and other natural things are placed in the very mechanical vases. The vases were designed while Archjananun was studying at the University of Art and Design Lausanne.

Three-Ring and A-Frame Plant Holders by Poketo

I’m a big fan of most things Poketo and these two small-scale plant holders are just another reason to love them. The Three-Ring and A-Frame planters work both indoors and out and and look at home in any environment.

The Three-Ring plant holder comes in galvanized silver or white and in both a wall mounted style as well as a table-top version. The A-Frame hanging plant holder is a plank of solid Ipe wood hung with military cotton strapping & bronze hardware. They range from $25.00 to $78.00 an are available on the Poketo website right now.

Studio Juju – Wobble & Mushroom Containers

I really love these two container series, Wobble & Mushroom, by the really talented folks at Singapore based Studio Juju. The two designs use beautiful hardwood hand spun on a lathe to create really soft forms, vessels that look as though they would feel both at home in the hand and on the table. The Mushroom series lids can be turned over and used as small plates.

Letter Set dry transfers from Veer

I remember playing with these when I was kid, using a spoon to transfer letters to just about everything I could. Veer initially made these as a promotion to give to their top clients, but they quickly realized that every type nerd out there would love them. $18.00 on Veer gets you your own set. The set comes with 5 sheets, each a different Veer typeface.

The Natural Speaker by Joon&Jung

I want a pair of these speakers so badly. The Natural Speaker by Eindhoven based design studio Joon&Jung (Joonsoo Kim & Jungyou Choi) are hand-crafted cast porcelain speakers that have a wooden dowel sound box below that gives the sound a natural feeling resonance, much like an acoustic instrument. Not only are the self-amplified Natural Speakers amazingly beautiful, they have a really great “warm” sound to them missing from today’s mass market speakers.

ICFF 2011 – New Products from MIO: Tack Frame & Foldscape

MIO released two new amazing products at ICFF this year along with new colorways for their Nomad System. The new products, both by MIO’s Creative Director Jaime Salm and designer Alex Undi, Tack Frame & 4 styles of Foldscape drop ceiling tiles, Bloom, Crystal, Peak & Square represent new directions for MIO with the old technologies they have made relevant again in product design.

Tack Frame
Tack Frame comes in two styles, Square and Oval, with both being available in Tan cork and Dark cork. The rococo styling mixed with MIO simplicity creates a really fun product that is sure to look amazing on anyone’s wall. Square is $65.00 and Oval is $95.00, both are a good deal for such beautiful tack boards!

The Foldscape 3D folded cardboard tiles come in four styles, Bloom, Crystal, Peak & Square and will add a breath of fresh air to any office saddled with drop ceilings. The 2′x2′ tiles come in white for now and are sold 24 to a pack for only $98.00. That’s 96 sq. ft. of unbelievable ceiling per box!
