I love the beautiful ceramic work by the duo James & Tilla Waters. Their elegant ceramic bowls, cups and containers are hand made in their small farm studio in Carmarthenshire, Wales. The simple forms are complimented beautifully by the subtle colors and the brilliant pop or red at their bases.
I was recently in Portland, OR and found these awesome ceramics at a really great store, Woonwinckle. I ended up walking out with a box full of Pigeon Toe ceramics and I couldn’t be happier with them.

The hand made porcelain ceramics come in a wide variety of simple and beautiful forms, bowls, vases, cups. Theses inspired little creatures are the brain-child of Hobart, Australia textile artist Cat-Rabbit. Each piece is hand made without patterns, making everyone unique. You can see more of her work on her website, flickr, or purchase one for yourself on her Etsy Shop.
I have to find a way to get a set of these. These watercolor plates and bowls, by Studio Potomak, a little ceramic studio just outside of Venice, are stunning. The bone white of the porcelain china is set of with washes of bright colors.

The handmade Luxury Moving Blanket Throws by artist and maker Carrie Strine are truly beautiful quilts. They’re made from vibrant swatches of 100% organic cotton fabric & batting and feature the zig-zag stitching of traditional moving blankets. At $250.00 I wouldn’t wrap your furniture in it to stuff it in the back of a rusty pickup, but it would be the perfect addition to any living room. The blankets are just the right size for getting cozy at 60″ x 60.″ The blankets are available in her online shop.
The Folded “A” vases by designer Romi Hefetz of Romi Ceramics started their lives as beautifully folded sheets of paper. The paper forms were then translated into elegant pure white porcelain, retaining the intricate qualities of the folded paper. Each vase is hand made by Romi and are available through her Etsy store, RomiCeramics or on the SuperMarket website. The rest of her work is definitely worth a look as well.
On a recent trip to India, Alexander Hulme couldn’t help but notice the 5 Rupee coin had a really beautiful decorative edge. He decided he could highlight the edge by turning the Rupee into a ring. He drilled out the center, shaped the hole and silver plated it. He sold the rings he had for 200 times the value of the 5 Rupee piece, around £13.50.
