Soji Collection by Mute
Soji is a collection of containers & plates by the Japanese design studio Mute, that perfectly blends the traditional methods of Yamanaka-Shikki (Japanese lacquer ware & woodcarving dating back to the late 1500s) with modern design cues. The collection includes a Sara (plate), Hako (stacking case), Wan (bowl), & Tutu (canister), each of which is made from the fast growing Castor Aralia tree and hand coated with Japanese red lacquer. The beautiful open grain of the Castor Aralia wood contrasts nicely with the deep, solid hue of the red rims. The Soji collection is produced by Unomatudo.
