Hummingbird: A contemporary take on the rocking chair by Dana Canna & Studio Agata Karolina

As a huge fan of Dana Cannam’s Clamp Lamp, an elegantly simple construction he designed for Pablo, I had to see what new projects he has been working on. I came across Hummingbird, a joint project done in conjunction with Agata Karolina. Hummingbird is brilliant contemporary take on the classic rocking char, updating its usability to modern time.

When the user sits upright in Hummingbird, the chair rocks forward, allowing the user to comfortably sit at desk. But with a slight shift in weight, Hummingbird gently falls back, allowing the user to relax in what the designers call “an embracing sensation.”

Hummingbird was presented at The Front Room exhibition at Ca’Laghetto, Via Laghetto, Milan, during the Salone Del Mobile 2012.
