Pipe Knot – Keiji Ashizawath
3 cool new pieces from Keiji Ashizawa. Pipeknot consists of consists of a coat rack, a coffee table and a table. All 3 pieces use a fastening system developed by Keiji Ashizawa. Welded steel pipes form the constructive knots. The wooden sticks which pass through them are fixed by dowels.
I love the clean look of the hardware and the idea of the “knot” of pipe being the binding. Im not sure if I would have gone with the glass top both for aesthetic reasons and structurally. It doesn’t look as if there is anything holding it in place other than it’s own weight.
