Wood Type Revival Has Launched
This is one of those rare moments on the web when I am so excited I can barely contain myself. Wood Type Revival has opened is proverbial doors. This Kickstarter funded project collects old wooden type, cleans it, prints it, and converts it into digital typefaces. They are even offering the typefaces on WebKit, allowing you to embed the type effortlessly into your website.
Wood Type Revival is starting with four classic typefaces, Fatboy, Roycroft, French Clarendon Ornamented, and Gothic Open Shaded. Each type face is available for download for the low price of $15.00. Each font comes in two “weights,” regular & distressed. The regular weight has been digitally cleaned to reproduce sharply while the distressed weight has all of the blemishes from the original letterpress proof.
